Few artists work in pairs, and even fewer work with their twin, but artists Greg and Tim Hildebrandt are fans of the unexpected. The two brothers became best known as fantasy illustrators when they brought J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings saga to life for Ballantine books. The twin’s illustration of another Tolkien book, The Hobbit, was chosen as the artwork for the fourth annual Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
Old and new friends sit in front of a fire, telling tall tales, and preparing to embark on a life-changing adventure. Unexpected Party depicts Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the wizard, and the thirteen dwarves who make up the unforgettable cast of the classic fantasy novel. Together, they demonstrate how storytelling brings together even the most dissimilar people and creatures in a shared experience. At the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, magic is always welcome.
