Submission: Complete application (including a link to your story) HERE. This applies to all youth teller submissions, including finalists from state storytelling events.
Deadline: March 19, 2021
Evaluation: A National Selection Committee of independent judges will evaluate recordings electronically.
Notification: Youth Finalists will be notified via email in May and will receive an invitation to present their story as a National Youth Storyteller this September in Lehi, Utah at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
Story Length: 5-8 minutes (suggested); not to exceed 9 minutes.
Format: Submit an electronic audition via YouTube or Vimeo.
Anonymity: DO NOT include teller’s surname or place of residence on recording.
Online Submissions: All forms are accepted electronically HERE.
Age: Tellers must be 8-18 years old (or grade 2-12) to submit audition.
A State Chair, guild, or school district may review electronic videos to make sure youth teller applications and recordings are ready to submit.
Storytellers who have previously performed at the Festival are eligible to perform at the Festival again if selected.
Entry forms must be fully completed to avoid disqualification.
Please do not include graphics with teller information as it may count against the teller’s score.
Students must not turn 19 years of age prior to September 11, 2021.
TSI will invite 18-20 top ranking National Youth Storytellers to perform in a Showcase & at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
