Description
Leonard Parkin
Perhaps it isn’t surprising that artist Leonard Parkin is known for painting black skies and bright stars. As a photographer with the U.S. Navy, Parkin served as a crew member on the U.S.S. Randolph, the airplane carrier that helped recover astronauts Gus Grissom and John Glenn after their return from space. His gift for painting both children and sky made his work the perfect choice for the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival’s second year, a year that premiered an evening performance of scary stories.
A black night, an old tree and a monster or two-they all combine to make a perfect background for stories in the Dark. All children and former children know the excitement of staying up too late and sharing spooky tales.
