Co-Presenter(s) – info for any co-presenters, same as above
2. Session Title (10 words or less). This title will be used in the Conference program book and on the website. It should attract attention to your session and identify the topic in a short, catchy style.
3. Session Category. Please indicate what type of presentation you are offering and, in the case of workshops or showcases, the length of time most suited to your proposal (60 minutes or 90 minutes).
~ Workshop (60-120 minutes) should include participation and hands-on activities, focusing on practical application of storytelling methods.
~ Showcase (60-120 minutes) Typically less participatory than a workshop. Showcases might include: lecture; panel presentation; a focus on established innovative storytelling programs, projects, or activities that could serve as models for others; or a discussion/display of resources that have been researched and collected. Showcases could demonstrate a program or technique for potential use by other storytellers and/or groups, or introduce information for further independent exploration by participants.
~ Performance (15-90 minutes) No storytelling event is complete without storytelling performances. Submit a proposal to participate in an evening concert or during designated times during the daytime conference program. Performances should be directed to a general audience. Send us a 20 minute or longer sample recording (CD, audiotape, DVD, VHS) of your performance material. Recordings do not need to be professionally produced. NOTE:
- If your proposal is submitted in more than one category (e.g., Workshop and Intensive), please describe how you will approach it differently in each category. Make this information obvious in one proposal only so the reviewers will be able to tell what you are planning to do that is unique to each.
- If you are submitting two different proposals, you must submit a separate proposal for each topic.
4. Intended Audiences. The main groups/interests you think would find this program particularly useful. It is expected that all sessions will be appropriate for storytellers.
