Free Concert: 2015 Timpanogos Storytelling Festival Kickoff with Bill Harley and Sam Payne

Free Concert at The Riverwoods

Kickoff the 2015 Timpanogos Storytelling Festival with  a FREE concert on Wednesday, September 2 at the Shops at Riverwoods Gazebo from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Grammy winner Bill Harley will be joined by Sam Payne, host of BYU Radio’s The Apple Seed, and youth storyteller Mason Watts for an amazing evening of stories. The Riverwoods concert is the perfect appetizer for someone who has never experienced the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival before. Come on Wednesday evening enjoy the charm and power of story.

This special event is a partnership between the The Shops at Riverwoods, BYU Radio’s The Apple Seed, and the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. The program is supported by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Bill Harley

Bill Harley is a two-time Grammy award-winning artist who used song and story to paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of growing up, schooling, and family life. Bill tours nationwide as an author, performing artist, and keynote speaker. he is a longtime commentator for National Public Radio and a recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities "for his use of music, song, and story in building community; promoting our common humanity; and encouraging lifelong learning, exploring, and growing.

Sam Payne

With mesmerizing melodies to envelop his touching tales, Sam Payne tells stories with songs and sings songs with stories, interweaving the two so seamlessly that there is no need to differentiate. An author, a songwriter, a teller, and a teacher, Sam blends all four disciplines together and creates a unique form of entertainment all his own. While you can catch Sam Monday through Friday at 2 pm Eastern on Sirius XM Radio, you don’t want to miss a chance to hear him live and in person.
